Latest figures for homelessness in civilians within the United Kingdom The latest statistics on homelessness in civilians within the United Kingdom reveal a mixed picture of the situation. While there has been a decrease in the number of households assessed as homeless, the number of households in temporary accommodation has increased, indicating a continued crisis. The Salvation Army has warned that recent welfare cuts could put more people at risk of losing their homes. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has reported a 10.4% increase in initial assessments for households in England, with a significant rise in those assessed as threatened with homelessness. However, the number of households assessed as homeless has seen a 12.3% increase, highlighting the ongoing challenges in addressing homelessness.

CERT (UK) do not have any paid members of staff. All those who are part of CERT are volunteers. This means that 90% of all donations go straight to where they need to be. The 10% left over goes to the day-to-day running costs of the charity. We pride ourselves in knowing, unlike some of the bigger charities, those in need benefit greatly from a larger amount getting to the grassroots.
